Who can take part?
Locals, groups and families are all welcome to take part in this early evening event. We want everyone involved!
How much does it cost?
Buy a torch for £10 if you are over 16, or a wristband for £3 if you are under 16. Pre-school age children can join for free.
When do I get my torch?
When you purchase your ticket online, you’ll receive a voucher via email. You must bring this with you on the night and you will be given a torch in the Botanic Gardens.
Can you buy a torch on the day?
Yes, torch vouchers will be available for purchase on our website up until 5.30pm on the day. We will also be selling torches from our box office in the Botanic Gardens from 5pm.
What’s in the parade?
As well as hundreds of torch bearers there will be pipe bands, fire performers and representation from the countries St Andrew is the Patron Saint of, including Russia, Ukraine, Greece and Cyprus. The parade will be led by the famous Scottish actor, David Hayman, who also represents our charity partner, Spirit Aid.
How long does the parade last?
The procession will take 50 minutes and there will be around 15 minutes of entertainment at the end.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry! No dogs allowed except guide dogs.
Is it suitable for wheelchairs and buggies?
Yes. We will be walking on the road.
